Webinar: Washington's Clinical Data Repository can make people healthier
August 13, 2019 –
How is it possible to provide integrated care—including emergency care—for people throughout the state who may have several providers and multiple health care needs?
Integrated care brings together physical and mental health care, substance use treatment and services that support housing, employment, and more, so a person can live a healthier life.
To achieve this, all providers must have quick access to their clients' health records: current medications and vaccinations, chronic conditions, allergies, injuries, nutritional status, dental care, and conditions that affect mental health. In addition, these records must be protected against loss, theft, or misuse.
This is the story of Washington's Clinical Data Repository (CDR). The CDR is a powerful, web-based vault that safely receives, stores, and transmits medical records to providers, so clients can receive the best possible care. Currently, the CDR is serving only Washington's Apple Health (Medicaid) population, but the vision is much larger.
